A Dick Pickles mystery
MURDER ON THE EVENT HORIZON
The victim: a theoretical physicist.
The murder weapon: the micro-black hole he created.
When a secretive authoritarian state needs someone to solve a paradoxical assassination, they kidnap who they believe is the West's finest detective. Luckily for British intelligence agencies, this is a rare window into the inner workings of Djerchovnia. Unfortunately for Djerchovnia, they've unwittingly smuggled in Dick Pickles, a confused horticulturist who once did a true crime podcast.

ABOUT THIS BOOK
Dick Pickles, a garden nursery worker, is accidentally thrust into the limelight when his bedroom-recorded true crime podcast cracks the coldest unsolved serial killer case of all time. His viral fame even penetrates the closed borders of Djerchovnia, a bizarre dystopia shut off from the rest of the world. The head Djerch wants D¡ck to investigate their own seemingly impossible murder case. Dick just wants to look after his houseplants.
- Light sci-fi
- Ridiculous comedy
- Impossible crime
- (It's totally not set in Russia btw, it's Djerchovnia. Unrelated.)
ABOUT THE AUTHOR

ZEKE IDDON, AWARD-LOSING AUTHOR
Zeke Iddon, British novelist, can be found dandily prancing around Devon. His first debut novel, GO DIE in a FIRE, did okay all things considered. He continues to try his very best with this, his second novel, and that's really all anyone can ask of him. He hopes this dedication to trying really hard continues to translate into sales because Zeke Iddon, British novelist, has learned that you have to sell a bajillion books on Uncle Bezos' book website to make like half a mortgage payment.
- Has never won the Man Booker prize for fiction
- Has never even been shortlisted for it
- Hasn't been longlisted for it either, come to think
- To be fair he has never entered the Man Booker prize
- Apparently not famous enough for his own Wikipedia page, regardless of how many times he tries to put one up
